Erin Kimmett, owner and designer of Thirsties, became infatuated with the sewing machine and all its wonders beginning at a very young age. Her grandmother, Pearl McBride, was a truly gifted craftswoman and eventually become a local celebrity in her artful sewing expressions. As a new cloth diapering mother, she couldn’t find a diaper cover that quite suited the needs of her baby, so she set out to create her own cloth diaper covers.
The first covers were patterned, cut, and sewn on her dining room table. Now all Thirsties cloth diaper products are made in the U.S. by a group of very talented women, many of whom work at home. Thirsties is responsible for twelve Colorado jobs, bringing exciting growth in such shaky economic times. They use only the best of U.S.-sourced components in order to reduce our carbon footprint, to help support domestic textile mills, and to ensure your diapers will last wash after wash.
Their warehouse is a renovated 1920s filler station in downtown Cañon City, Colorado. Cañon City is a small town nestled up against the south-eastern foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Made in USA.
