The Essentials carrier has a classic 4-position design. Those positions are: Front-Infant (with a LILLEbaby infant insert), Front-Facing-In, Hip, and Back. The ESSENTIALS is recommended for children 15lbs-45lbs without an infant insert, and 7lbs to 45lbs with a LILLEbaby infant insert. Forward facing out is not a position that can be used with a LILLEbaby Essentials carrier, but remember that the LILLEbaby COMPLETE has six carry positions, including forward facing-out!
